Meet Jorge

Jorge Abreu grew up in a Brazilian immigrant household where money was always tight — but dreams were always big. After earning his degree and working at Bain & Company in San Francisco, he saw firsthand how wealth-building tools were designed for people who already had wealth.

That realization sparked a question: Why aren’t we helping the communities that need it most? For Jorge, that meant the Hispanic community — his neighbors, his friends, his family. And so Avlis was born.

The Problem We’re Solving

Over 30 million Hispanic households in the U.S. don’t have an investment account. Not because they can’t — but because the financial industry wasn’t built for them. The jargon is confusing, the platforms feel intimidating, and trusted guidance in Spanish is almost impossible to find.
